What we affirm
Before a site asks you to reread Genesis, you deserve to know exactly where it stands. So here it is, plainly. Every contributor on this site affirms these things.
- Jesus Christ is God. He became a man, died on the cross, and rose bodily from the dead. He is the center of the Bible, and the center of this site.
- God created the material universe from nothing. Our question is never whether God made all things. It's which text teaches that.
- Adam was a real man in real history. The question we press is his job, not his existence.
- The Bible is the inspired word of God and the final authority. Our method follows from that: Scripture interprets Scripture. Dictionaries suggest; the Bible's own usage decides. No argument here rests on a scholar's say-so — including the scholars we like.
- Salvation is by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. The gospel is not a timeline. It's a person.
What we don't claim
We do not claim that "nothing physical happened." We do not take sides between a young earth and an old earth — on our reading, Genesis 1–3 isn't answering that question. That's exactly why the age of the earth never threatens it. And we don't ask you to change your view of the end times to read a single page here. Where the evidence leads is a question we leave open until you ask it yourself.
For contributors
This list is also the boundary of our roster. Contributors differ on the end times, church background, and plenty more — on purpose. What they share is the list above, plus one conviction: the question "what kind of writing is Genesis 1–3?" deserves an honest hearing. If you can affirm that, there's room at this table.
